We Moved!

But not to Iowa as we thought. We are in Eugene, Or. which is where we were planning to go in the first place. What a roundabout way to come back to our first choice! I am so happy and relieved. Elizabeth lives in Corvallis which is about 45 minutes away.

Once the opportunity to go to Oregon presented itself, we packed almost the entire house (I had just started packing in earnest) made all the arrangements, and got up here five days later! We moved ourselves via UHaul.

We got the big 26 foot truck and Jim and Geoff worked hard all day to pack it up. Our very sweet next door neighbor brought over something for us to eat and Jim fell asleep sitting against the dining room wall.

We woke up at 3:00 am and were on the road by 4:30am and got up to Eugene at about 5:00 that afternoon. What a day! The dogs seem to have made it ok though!  Here they are sitting on the chair at the hotel. The next day we began our search for a house in earnest. We wanted to rent because we do not know the area. After a lot of looking and a lot of driving by bad areas we fell in love with two places. One lady called us at the end of that day and said we were approved and gave us the final cost. Having pets costs more in deposit and rent. Good thing they’re worth it!

This is part of the front yard and down the street. It’s very quiet and green. We already feel at home here!
